My Internship Project – A B2B WordPress Site for AM-Tech

My first entry into the world of professional web development was during a three-month internship at AM-Tech, a leader in the industrial automation field. I was immediately entrusted with a key, responsible task: to design and technically execute their new, comprehensive corporate website using WordPress.

The Challenge

The challenge was specific to the B2B industry. AM-Tech offers complex, high-tech solutions to other companies. The site needed to be robust, easy for their team to update, and instantly project authority and trust.

The key objectives were:

1. Build Trust: Visitors (engineers, managers) must immediately see that AM-Tech is a serious and reliable partner.
2. Simplify Complexity: Their complex technical services needed to be presented in a clear and understandable way.
3. Generate Leads: The site had to be an effective tool for generating business inquiries.

The Solution & Technical Execution (WordPress)

While my primary development tool is Webflow, a key part of this internship was adapting to the client's specific needs. They required a platform their team could easily manage long-term, so I proposed and used WordPress.

Even though this was my first professional site built on this specific platform, I embraced the challenge. Its flexibility allowed me to focus on both the visual design and the technical structure required for a complex B2B company.

• WordPress Customization: Instead of starting from scratch, I used a professional theme as a foundation and then thoroughly customized it to the client's specific needs. This involved modifications to PHP/CSS to achieve a unique corporate look and functionality.
• Content Architecture: The biggest UX challenge was organizing their complex services (robotics, packing lines...). In WordPress, I solved this by creating a clear page and menu structure, ensuring users could easily find the exact information they needed.
• Focus on Credibility: To build trust, I emphasized the "References" section. Using WordPress, it was easy to implement a clean portfolio of their successful projects and partners.
• UI Design: The design is clean, corporate, and precise. I used a strict color palette (blue, white, gray) that evokes technology and engineering.

Outcome & Personal Takeaway

In just three months of my internship, I successfully delivered a complete, modern, and functional B2B website in WordPress to AM-Tech, as well as several other digital projects for the company. The new website was the key deliverable, which their team can now update independently.
